How To Share Files

1. How It Works (The Network)

ShareBeam operates exclusively on your Local Area Network (LAN) or Wi-Fi. It doesn't send your files over the internet to a central server. Instead, it creates a direct Peer-to-Peer (P2P) tunnel between the sending and receiving devices. This means transfers are as fast as your Wi-Fi router can handle, and completely private.

2. Connecting Another Device

To "login" or connect a second device, one device must Create a Room. This generates a unique 6-digit Room Code and a QR Code. On the second device, simply open ShareBeam and click Join Room. You can either scan the QR code using your phone's camera, or manually type the 6-digit code. Both devices are now paired in a secure room.

3. Sharing Files & Folders

Once connected, any device in the room can drag and drop files or folders into the interface. ShareBeam uses WebRTC technology to chunk the files and send them directly to the other device. Because it's on the same network, large files like GBs of videos or software transfer in seconds without eating up your mobile data or internet bandwidth.
